Do you love binge-watching HGTV and scrolling all those wonderful Facebook posts about design ideas? If you do, you are going to absolutely love today’s episode with Jen Berniker!
Before moving from New York City to Westport, Connecticut with her husband and two kids (yes, she is a city to suburbs transplant also!), Jen worked for 15 years as a TV writer and director. Many of her credits were on home design and real estate programs for HGTV and TLC, and now she’s a writer for Westport Lifestyle Magazine as well as being a freelance video producer specializing in lifestyle video content.
Recently Jen launched a social media design advice group and a blog called DesignPort, a collaborative community design board for free, crowdsourced advice from design-obsessed friends and local pros. She has also worked in business development as a video producer, and Jen personally relates to the challenges of moving from the city to the suburbs, setting up a new life and a new home and has so many great insights on things such as décor. I think this makes her an ideal guest to share her expertise and knowledge with us today on the podcast.
